يا أيها الناس قفوا أوصيكم بعشر:لا تخونوا ولا تغدروا ولا تمثلوا ولا تقتلوا طفلا صغيرا ولا شيخا كبيرا ولا امرأة ولا تعقروا نخلا ولا تحرقوه، ولا تقطعوا شجرة مثمرة ولا تذبحوا شاة ولا بقرة ولا بعيرا إلا لمأكله، وسوف تمرون بأقوام قد فرغوا أنفسهم في الصوامع فدعوهم وما فرغوا أنفسهم له وسوف تقدمون على قوم يأتونكم بآنية فيها ألوان الطعام، فإذا أكلتم منها شيئا فاذكروا اسم الله عليه.

Ten Commandments to the Moslems’ Army.

O, people I command you with Ten Commandments: Don’t betray. Don’t deceive. Don’t torture. Don’t kill a child, an old man, or a woman. Don’t cut a palm tree or burn it. Don’t cut a fruitful tree. Don’t slaughter a goat, a cow or a camel except when you want to eat.

You will pass by people who seclude themselves in hermitages, so leave them and what they secluded themselves for. You will pass by people who will serve you with dishes of different kinds of food; if you eat from that food, mention the name of Allah.
